a simple request

after discussing it with the girls, our family decided to send a request to the easter bunny this year. we want the focus of easter sunday to be on the Savior and His resurrection and not on the easter bunny and his goodies and egg hunting.

so,.....

kale'a made this:

lalas picture

(that's a picture of nani and kale'a in bed while the easter bunny delivers their baskets and hides eggs)

and nani wrote this:

nanis letter

(Dear, Easter bunny, instead of coming Saturday night, can you come Saturday around 4:30. thank you. I Love you. Love: Nani) nani has choosen to be baptized tomorrow afternoon at 4:00.

then, we folded them both and stuck them in this:

the envelop

put a stamp on it and handed it to the mail lady...

now we just wait until tomorrow after nani's baptism and mahealani's baby blessing to see if the easter bunny honors our request!

we'll let you know how it turns out.

Mahina that is great...There was a family in our Ward some time back..the Costantinos'. Christy would have a "spring celebration" and she would always do it the week before Easter and that is when their kids received their "spring baskets"...that way Easter stayed with an single emphasis on Christ and not candy and bunnies.

Hopefully that Easter bunny complies wtih the request. ;)

I don't do the Easter bunny at our house. Our kids do the ward Easter egg hunt but no bunny comes to our house ever. THey get a new book from mom and dad instead of more candy in a basket. And yes, a special FHE on the meaning of Easter.

WE did the same thing--the Easter Bunny came to my parents house at 4:30 pm on Saturday, after naptime of course. It was so nice to spend Sunday talking about Jesus.

Smart, smart, smart! I love it. Perfect way to balance out the true meaning of Easter and still have it be fun for the kids.

Can't wait to hear about the baptism and blessing. Hannah got baptized on a Sat. in March and we blessed baby Eric the next day. What a great weekend that was for our family! Happy Easter!

we don't really do the easter bunny here, but we do have our egg hunt and easter baskets on saturday. it makes for a more pleasant and christ-centered sunday.

congrats on the baptism and blessing. hope you'll get to post some photos soon!
