back at the beginning of summer, i was out running errands with all four girls, something i have since refused to do (unless in an emergency), and they were being well behaved. so, i decided they needed a reward and because it was a pretty warm day we went to uptown albuquerque to the ball fountain. if you don’t have one of these fountains near your house, kids love them, at least mine do!
when we first arrived the girls were trying to avoid getting wet, but as you may guess, that didn’t last long! here are nani and kawena when we first arrived (for some reason kale’a observed from a distance, at first):
nani stayed mostly dry by trying to cool off with the steam coming out of the vents,
while kawena stopped the water by stepping on the hole where it came out.
however, as i mentioned before, they didn’t stay dry very long…
they just couldn’t resist walking through it and standing in the middle while the fountain shot water balls all around them!
finally, kale’a saw how much fun her sisters were having without her and she joined in in a big way:
oh to be young again….i love the happy squeals of children!

Oh, how fun. It reminds me of the park in Beaverton we all use to go to.
love those fountains!
So how did you have towels? I need to be more spontaneous like that. The girls look like they had so much fun! Pat yourself on the back, that was a great mom moment.
Oh, how fun is this. I could have used some of that this week. You can't imagine how hot and Humid it is here in the Florida Keys. The nights are lovely but still hot, hot, hot! What did people do before fountains & air conditioning?
Love the pictures! Mahalo!
You are the coolest Mom!!
I have been catching up on posts...I always think how gorgeous your girls are.
How fun!!! Thats a pretty intense one! Remember the one at fashion island? It just spit up these pathetic (but fun at the time) drops of water. BTW I love the giggling at the end!
Ok Mahina!!!!!!! I am freaking out!! You were in Bayfield for the 4th!! That is where I live and we were there too!!!! Oh I am just sick that I could have totally seen you! My mom was here too visiting us! Ok next time we have to figure out a way to get together.... Do you love the dressed up dog?? That dog lives right behind me!!! Hope you are doing great!
Love, Tiffany
I like to take my kids to the fountain park at the Beaverton Library. There's a really nice one that opened up in Hillsboro too. Rylie and Sophia are getting to the age that they think it's babyish, Dang! Such cute pictures of your girls enjoying simple summer fun.
Miss you! I hope all is OK in Mahina's world!
I haven't heard from you in awhile. I just wanted to wish you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY tomorrow! Hope you are doing well.
