cleaning this gun

since i have music on my blog, as i am out and about running errands i keep my ears perked for new and exciting music on the radio to add to my playlist.

i have to tell you about one of the newest songs that i added yesterday. if you haven't heard cleaning this gun, you have to scroll down on my playlist (i think it is almost the last song) and click on it so you can listen to it while you read this! it is hillarious! okay, maybe not all of you will appreciate it for its humor, but those of you out there with girls who will be dating in the next ten years, it's for you!

the reason i HAD to put it on my playlist, is that this will so totally be mitch in ten years or so! what with three teenage girls in the house, goodness help us! i don't look forward to those days!

the first time i heard this song i could just picture mitch sitting in our living room welcoming nani's date into the house. he asks him to sit down and tell us about himself. mitch then tells the poor guy how wonderful and special we think nani is and how she deserves respect. all the while, he is calmly cleaning the shotgun he has sitting in his lap! come on, any of you who know mitch can picture it, can't you??!

when i told mitch that i put the song on my playlist his response was, with dread in his voice, "yeah! i need to get some guns!"

Nathan says the same thing! Every time Maren is looking beautiful and/or talking about boys she is in love with he shakes his head and says "I need to buy my shotgun now."

It's great to see that protective daddy side don't you think?

I didn't know you were a country music fan! Yes, we are familiar with that song. It's something Mike would do too.

i love it! i remember my dad saying stuff like that to my dates, minus the gun part.

there is a great quote by Charles Barkley (the basketball player) when being asked how he was going to handle it when his daughter had a boyfriend, he said "i figure if I kill the first one--the rest of the boys will get the picture and stay away till shes 30."

That's an awesome name for a song. I'll need to listen to it! 10 years seems like a long time away, but it'll go too fast!

I don't usually like country, but this has a fun message. I've got three girls too and one is 12 already. We don't have much time left!

Have you heard the song "Stealing Cinderella?" That is another touching country song that hit my OH button.

Thats great mahina! Love the song and can totally picture mitch with a gun in his lap! And he'll have to scare the boys away since your girls are so cute and theres no older brother the scare em away! Lala however could probably scare the boys away her self being so tough... and I mean that in a good way!

Great song. You also need a really mean crazy cat. That will really scare the boys. Jeff actually has guns and will hesitate to clean them every weekend. Samantha is getting too close to dating age. I just signed her up for EFY. It goes by so fast!

as the father to daughters, i'm sure that song really applies to mitch. jared is already teaching our boys that it is their job to keep bronwen away from other little boys! so funny. he says that i just don't understand the way boys/men think.
my dad never liked a single guy i brought around. i like to think that he would have liked jared, but he never got to meet him.
