3

how many diapers has kawena worn in the last three days:

  • 3 (at bedtime)

how many accidents has kawena had in the last three days:

  • 3

how many naps has kawena woken up from with dry panties in the last three days:

  • 3

what are three of my favorite phrases at the moment (they are music to my ears!):

  • "i haffa go potty!"
  • "mommie i need to go tinkles!"
  • "i go poopie in the toilet!"

can you believe it?

we have never had two children in diapers and mitch and i were wondering if this was going to be the one that broke our streak of luck! the gap between kawena and this baby is the smallest (2 years, 4 months) and since january had arrived and there was no interest in potty training, mitch and i were preparing ourselves for 2 in diapers.

in hopes of getting kawena out of diapers before the baby was born she got  2 packages of panties for christmas , one princess and one dora. included with the present was a large bag of jelly bellies. we tried  the day after christmas but it lasted about 2 hours and we put her back into her diaper, resloved to the fact that we may just have to suffer two in diapers!

well, she saw her panties this week and decided to wear them. and so far things are going pretty well! she made it through church today, all day errands yesterday and my midwife appointment friday with only one accident! the other two accidents were little ones at home!

so, we are hoping that things will continue to go well so we don't break our streak of only having one kid in diapers at a time!

my mother in law bought these cute little panties for becky when she was a 2 year old and that was the trick! She ran straight to her bedroom and put on those panties and refused to put a diaper on again...well we did put a diaper on her at nap time and bed time but she only had about 3 accidents.

Pretty good!

It's great that Kawena is being "mis independent" and keeping your diaper bill down for you :)

That is truly, truly fabulous! I have always had the hardest time potty training my boys...Yay, for you not having to have 2 in diapers at the same time.

She is so cute and I love how you wrote how she pronounces things!!

Wow - I am so impressed! I've never had two in diapers at the same time either, but since these last two will also be our closest (2 years, 3 months), I'm sort of resigned to it. Maybe some new panties would do the trick....

Hooray!!! My youngest 2 are really close so we had 2 in diapers for quite awhile.

Chase decided to potty train himself this week also. I am having an identity crisis. After 13+ years, no diapers.

good girl! that's wonderful. i'm still too chicken to put bronwen down for her nap in panties. it's her favorite time to have a bowel movement. i've decided that if she's in panties when she's not in her bed, i'm good with that. and yet, i'm jealous of the fact that you are using half as many diapers as i am right now. is that greedy of me? a few months ago, we were going through 5 a day.

wow!!! I guess that is the difference between boys and girls. I am not even going to attempt potty training with Cole until he gets closer to 3. Jake took awhile to really get the hang of it, and it really finally clicked right before he turned 3. congrats for you!

Thanks for catching us up on all the holiday fun! I hope you get your wish of having the baby early. All of my kiddos were late and later. It's so exciting about the potty training. I will be so nice to only have 1 in diapers. Keep up the great posts!

WHAT!!! I'm so jealous! I have bought Mikaila panties, candy, stickers. Nothing so far has worked. Oh well I'm just hoping by pool time she is done with diapers!

Always nice to be done with diapers...we've finally taken Sim out of pull-ups at night. He was always dry, but the thought of wet sheets in the middle of the night made me insist on no undies...but for two weeks now he has proven me wrong. Yippee!

Sounds like you all had a great Christmas. Happy New Year!

Good luck! It sounds like Kawena is on her way to being potty trained.

And hey...what's wrong with 2 in diapers? I'm going to have 3 in diapers!!!...shoot me now...or just send diapers. :) That's what I tell people when they ask if there is anything we need. Just diapers.
